Every great company begins with a person who saw a problem and decided to solve it better than anyone else. For Belmar Lake Plumbing, that person was John Belmar — a Colorado-licensed master plumber with a deep passion for his craft, an unshakeable work ethic, and a genuine love for the Lakewood community he called home. In 1990, John founded Belmar Lake Plumbing with nothing more than a single service van, a set of well-worn tools, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by every customer he served. From day one, his philosophy was simple: show up on time, diagnose the problem honestly, fix it correctly the first time, and charge a fair price. No shortcuts. No upsells. No excuses.
In those early years, John worked every job personally — crawling through crawl spaces in Lakewood's older bungalows, snaking drains in the neighborhoods around Belmar Park, repairing aging pipe systems in the post-war homes that define so much of Jefferson County's residential landscape. He built his reputation one satisfied customer at a time, and word spread quickly in the tight-knit Lakewood community. Within the first few years, demand grew beyond what one plumber could handle alone, and John began carefully selecting and training the first members of what would eventually become one of the most skilled plumbing teams in Colorado.
Over the following three decades, Belmar Lake Plumbing grew steadily and intentionally — never sacrificing quality for speed, never expanding faster than our ability to maintain the standards that built our reputation. Today, we are proud to employ 50 licensed plumbing professionals, operate 12 fully stocked service vans, and serve not just Lakewood but dozens of surrounding cities and neighborhoods across Jefferson County and the greater Denver metropolitan area. The tools have improved, the technology has advanced, and the team has grown — but the values John Belmar instilled from day one remain the same today as they were in 1990.
